Meet Our Doctors

Since 1984, the Holland Foot and Ankle Podiatric Physicians have dedicated themselves to you - the patient - your needs, your concerns, and your feet. Our four certified podiatrists, combined with a team of health-care support staff, guarantee friendly, professional, and complete podiatric treatment for you and your family.

As physicians and surgeons specializing in the foot and ankle, we understand that medical problems associated with the foot and ankle can have a profound impact on the enjoyment of life on a daily basis. We strive to relieve the pain and discomfort of these problems so that our patients may continue to participate in and enjoy the activities that are important to them.

Our doctors are members of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS) and the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA).

Richard Seiler, DPM, FACFAS

Dr. Richard Seiler is a West Michigan native.   He obtained his bachelors degree from Western Michigan University and graduated with honors from William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine. He completed a three year residency at Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago.  Dr. Seiler has been practicing in Holland and South Haven since 1993.  He is one of few podiatrists to become board certified in reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.

On the personal side, he lives with his wife Beth of over 30 years, in Holland, Michigan.  Attending his four children’s sporting events keeps him busy outside of the office. Hobbies include photography, boating, snow skiing, hunting and fishing. Fun fact: His identical twin brother in South Haven continues to be a source of confusion for his patients.

 

Matthew Lappenga, DPM, FACFAS

Dr. Lappenga was born and raised in Holland, Michigan. While studying at Hope College he enjoyed running varsity on the Cross Country and Track teams. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Hope College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. While living near Wrigley Field during graduate school he could not help but become a Chicago Cubs fan. Dr. Lappenga was valedictorian of his class and he graduated Summa Cum Laude from William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. He completed three years of training in a Podiatric Surgery Residency at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, by the shores of the beautiful Mississippi River. He returned to Holland where he is very happy to be raising his family. Dr. Lappenga joined Holland Foot & Ankle in 2006, where he thoroughly enjoys caring for our community in all aspects of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association. Dr. Lappenga is Board Certified in foot surgery and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. Dr. Lappenga offers appointments at our Holland North as well as at our Allegan locations.

 

Brent VanTil, DPM, AACFAS

Dr. Brent Van Til is an honors graduate of Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. He completed a three year surgical residency at Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. In addition, he completed a six week European fellowship in Foot and Ankle Surgery where he trained with international experts in Germany and the United Kingdom. Dr. Van Til has special interests in wound care and works at various wound centers in the area. He is on staff at Holland Hospital, Allegan General Hospital, and Zeeland Community Hospital. He is board certified by the American Board of Podiatry Medicine. He is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and Michigan Podiatric Medical Association.

In addition to his professional interests, Dr. Van Til enjoys spending time with his 3 children, gardening, and traveling. A native of suburban Chicago, he now enjoys living in the Holland community with his family.

 

Elizabeth Horton, DPM, AACFAS

Dr. Horton earned her doctorate at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Independence, OH in 2008. She completed her surgical residency and fellowship at University Hospitals Richmond Heights Medical Center. Her one year post-residency fellowship concentrated in advanced foot and ankle reconstruction and trauma. She practiced just outside of Cleveland for 2 years before returning to Michigan. Dr. Horton's special medical interests include reconstructive surgery, sports medicine and trauma. She is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association. Dr. Horton is Board Qualified in both foot and ankle surgery.

Dr. Horton grew up in Springport, Michigan, a small farming community.  She received her bachelor’s degree at Siena Heights University in Adrian, MI.  Dr. Horton is happy to be living and practicing podiatry in her home state. She is married with one daughter and enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, exercising, gardening and painting. 

 

Allison Dozeman, DPM, AACFAS

Dr. Dozeman was born and spent her childhood in Grand Rapids, MI. Her family moved to central Illinois during her junior high and high school years. She graduated from Wheaton College (IL) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology, and was a member of the basketball and soccer teams. Dr. Dozeman studied the Spanish language as an undergraduate student and later deferred acceptance to podiatry school for one year to work in a small hospital in rural Honduras. She earned a doctor of podiatric medicine from Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, IL. Dr. Dozeman completed a three year residency program in Portland, Oregon training in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery with a focus on Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery. She is an Associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association. Dr. Dozeman is Board Qualified in both foot and ankle surgery. She on staff at Holland Hospital, Allegan General Hospital, and Zeeland Community Hospital.

Dr. Dozeman enjoys spending time outdoors camping, kayaking, cross country skiing, snowboarding and cycling. Dr. Dozeman and her husband, Joel, are happy to be back in west Michigan and are eager to enjoy more time with family and experience true winter weather once again!
